Today has been a nice day so far

I got into work a little later than usual, but that was okay because no one was here yet. Today also marks the first day of my diet. I made a bet with my mom last night that I could lose 5 lbs in 10 days. I really think I can do it, and today is my first chance to see how I handle it. I already ate really healthy, and did not over indulge. I had fruit for breakfast, whole grains for lunch, and I will have poultry for dinner. Today, I am going to go to the gym after work and use the elliptical machine.

  • A Lazy Dinner

We didn’t feel like cooking last night, so we ate pizza for dinner instead. I had hubby go out to buy a box of pepperoni pizza which our daughter loves so much, and ate it in front of the television while watching an animated movie. We almost consumed the contents of the whole box because we haven’t had pizza in a long time, plus we were starving like mad because we cleaned the whole house before dinner time. I think it’s good that we just sit down like that and don’t bother with anything fancy for dinner as it gives us more time to bond. Although of course, the budget will not allow that, and there are also health issues to think of. But it was a fun pizza dinner, all in all.

  • Consider an Orthopedic Dog Bed!

If you love your dog like I love mine, you should consider an Orthopedic Dog Bed.  The Orthopedic dog beds are designed to take the pressure off your dogs’ joints and bones and alleviate some of the wear and tear they incur from living a dog’s life.  The orthopedic dog bed is usually made with a special product that is similar to memory foam; these beds will support your dog while they sleep.  Our Lab mix, Max, was about 9 years old when he started to stiffen up,  after talking to our veterinarian, we opted for a larger orthopedic dog bed.  This orthopedic dog bed allowed Max to stretch out his tired body (chasing squirrels is a tough job!) and get the 18 hours of sleep a busy dog needs!

  • Relaxing by Myself

When I have spare time, I like to spend it alone. My job has me around people all day, so having some alone time really centers me. I typically spend my spare time on the Internet. I watch a lot of streaming video and read a lot of blogs. After I’ve gotten tired of that, I usually crack open a good book or read the latest magazine that came in the mail. I also like to give myself spa treatments when I have spare time. I soften my feet and paint my toenails. I also shape and paint my fingernails. Sometimes I exfoliate my whole body. During this time, I listen to music or podcasts on my iPod. Sometimes I enjoy baking with whatever is in my house. If I’ve got chocolate chips, I make cookies. If I have fruit, I make cobbler.

  • My top 3 must see movies

I’ve seen hundreds, maybe even thousands of movies in my days but there are some that just never seem to get old. I’ll start with number 3 and work my way to 1 which will be my top. First off, number 3 would be “clockwork orange”. The first time I saw this movie it was 2 o’clock am and I couldn’t turn it off no matter how bad I wanted to sleep. It’s about a gang of British thugs who basically just go around and do horrible things to strangers for no apparent reason. It’s certainly a different type of movie which is why I’m fond of it. Number 2 would be “Tombstone”. This movie is amazing for so many reasons. It’s a western about the town of Tombstone and the story of Wyatt Earp and his 2 brothers bringing law back to the increasingly dangerous, cowboy town. I must have seen this movie 30 times and I can still get into the story. And finally my number 1 favorite movie has to be “gladiator”. Russell Crowe not only is an amazing tough guy but pulls of the part of a roman gladiator perfectly. Once a highly acclaimed general in the Roman army Maximus was framed for the death of the Roman emperor by the prince and so called heir to the throne. If you take anything away from this article it should be a little voice telling you to watch this movie.

  • Prioritizing is key

Last week end I had very many things to do, but I thought I would prioritize and then start doing them. As usual wanted to take rest for a day and thought would travel out only for one day. We planned accordingly and we went out to the supermarket to get our monthly provisions along with parts for the keg refrigerator, and then we went to our Mummy’s place and there we spent about three hours and finally we came home and we were in for a surprise because our family friend wanted to drop in home to have a chat with us and so immediately as soon as we came home we asked them to drop in home and they dropped in home with their two children and my daughter and their children went to play and we all sat and had a nice chat about the previous weeks happenings and thus flew off our Sunday evening and finally it was nearly 8:30 p.m. when they started home and after that we had our dinner and went off to bed early as we had an hectic work schedule the next week.

  • Dog collars and dog leashes to choose from

A dog collar is a is a piece of material put around the neck of a dog. A collar might be used for control, identification, fashion, or other purposes. Identification tags and medical information is often placed on dog collars. Collars are also useful for controlling a dog manually, as they provide a handle for grabbing. Collars are often used in conjunction with a leash, and a common alternative to a dog collar is a dog harness. Dog collars and leashes are the most common form of directing and teaching dogs.

  • Here we go again!

Every few years you get really lucky. I work at a high school. I am a science teacher and I teach chemistry in higher levels. This year I teach one of the two year four classes (15-16 years) that study chemistry. My students love science and they can not get enough of it. We go over the material that I am supposed to teach and they can not get enough of it. They want to know about atoms and molecules and how they are formed. You talk about diamond to explain about Carbon and they want to know about graphite because that is carbon too. They see some notes for year 6 on the white board and want to now what they mean. They would like to finish the book straight away and move on to the next book. I know that working (and especially teaching) is supposed to cost energy, but this group just makes my day. Can you see why I feel lucky?

  • Tasty and Authentic Enchiladas with green Chile sauce!

    Best green chile enchiladas ever

I had the best green Chile enchiladas of my life last night at a little dive called “Margarita’s” in Roswell, NM. My family and I were traveling through there and decided to stop and stay the night because it was late. We were all hungry and asked the hotel clerk where a good place to eat was? She told us if we wanted the very best, go to Margarita’s! It was a dive of a building to look at….but the food and price was fantastic! I myself had the enchilada plate with green for about $8. I had two beef and one cheese. Everything was so fresh, even the beans and rice were incredible! The rice had a bit of a smokey flavor and it was awesome! The green sauce was so good with just the right amount of kick to it. We are going to go back for tacos to go and hit the road!

  • Reading to make my spare time more enjoyable

I am a bookworm and love to spend my leisure time reading books. I rarely get sparetime because I have to look after my grand children.Inspite of it I read FREEDOM AT MIDNIGHT by Lorry Colins as many times as possible.I love reading history novels and science fictions. In India science fiction got a different dimension after it was given weightage by author Sujatha, noted Tamil language writer.Apart from reading I would love to try differnt recepies to satisfy my tiny tots. But I am particular in keeping the house neat and artistic. Thus to my age my spare time is spent around the household duties.
