Vintage, but not old

I never really expected to be pushing 60.  60?  really?  me?  Just a few months ago I was going to my first concert:  The Beatles.  Just a month ago I was entering college.  Just a few weeks ago I was giving birth to my first child.  Just a few days ago both my children were still children.  Inside my own head and my own heart I am no older than 35.  Every time I catch sight of that oldish woman who looks like my mother reflected in a store window or mirror, I am shocked.  I suspect that really old people feel the same way.

  • Bohemian Chic(k)

A busy day calls for an easy ensemble that can flow with you from day to night, from chasing kids to leading youth group.  So, when I woke up this morning I took a look at all of my tried and true clothing, but decided on a simple strapless, ankle length dress.  I receive many compliments on it.  It has this wild, bohemian multi-colored pattern with a double elastic empire waist and slight ruffling at the ankles.  To keep my bare shoulders covered, and warm, I added a brown cardigan in a lightweight fabric that just flowed over my arms with amazing angled drapage in front.  And not to brag or anything, but I still donned my flip flops.  I enjoyed every minute of semi-barefoot step on this beautiful Fall day.

It had been in the 70s during the day so we didn’t expect that much “chilling,

One of my favorite tv shows has caught my eye for eight seasons. Every Tuesday night at 8PM EST I tune into NBC to watch the Biggest Loser.  Yes it is a show that inspires, and amazes with some of the major fat that melts off of the contestants in such a short amount of time.  And, admittedly sometimes while sitting and watching these contestants sweat off their fat I sit there and gorge on something yummy like cookies.  Maybe that’s a bit narcissistic of me, but I still can’t help but enjoy watching the show- even if I am not a svelte size 3 after watching it.
